2022-2023 Scholarship Program for Graduating High School Seniors
Guidelines
Program Guidelines & Priorities:
* Seeking graduating seniors attending high school in the United States with a record of leadership and volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities and participation in extracurricular school activities.
* Applicant must complete high school by the spring of 2022.
* Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale, excluding home school studies) and plan to attend an accredited HBCU. (HBCU is defined as “historically black colleges and universities”.)
* Applicant must apply to and be accepted into an accredited HBCU by July 1, 2022.
* Applicant must have minimum SAT score of 1150 or ACT score of 21.
* Applicant must be a United States Citizen
* Applicant must intend on pursuing an undergraduate degree in the sciences with the intention of pursuing that discipline as a career. The following majors will be considered: Biomedical and Biological Sciences, Engineering and Engineering Technology, Health Professions, Mathematics and Statistics, Physical Sciences, Psychology, Science Technology.
* Applicant must plan to matriculate at accredited HBCU for the Fall 2022/Spring 2023 academic year (enrollment must begin in the Fall) with the intention of maintaining full-time status for the entire year.
* Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation that are specific to your application to the Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program: one from a high school teacher, counselor, or principal and one from a local community member or officer of an organization in which the applicant is affiliated. Do not submit more than two letters.
* Applicants must submit the most recent official transcript. This transcript must contain the official school stamp or seal. It may be mailed or emailed. If it is emailed, it must be sent directly to the Freemont Foundation from the school/institution or from the school’s official transcript service.
* The letters of recommendation and transcript may either be included in the application package, sent separately, or emailed.
* Applications and all supporting documents must be postmarked February 4, 2022 or received my email by February 4, 2022. Late applications and supporting documents will not be accepted.
* Your name must be on all materials.
* The application, ESSAY, and resume must be typed and returned by mail.

The scholarship award will be announced no later than April 2022. Scholarship funds will be paid in September 2022 for the Fall semester directly to the college/university and not to the student. It will be the student’s responsibility to submit to the Foundation at that time proof of enrollment for the Fall 2022 semester that will include student ID number and college information.
