The James M. & Erma T. Freemont Foundation announces the 2024-2025 Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program.
The Freemont Foundation Scholarship Program is available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students.
Through generous donations, the Foundation is able to provide scholarships to outstanding students, the "Freemont Scholars". It is the duty of our dedicated Board of Directors to determine the most outstanding individuals to receive these awards.
Freemont Scholars are selected from a nationwide pool of applicants. The Freemont Foundation awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students with a record of leadership and volunteerism in the community and participation in extracurricular school activities.
The scholarship awards will be announced in the Spring of 2024.
DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 2, 2024
HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS: * Must complete high school in the spring of 2024 * Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale, excluding homeschool studies) * Plan to attend an accredited HBCU (HBCU is defined as “historically black colleges and universities”) for the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 academic year. * Must have minimum SAT score of 1150 or ACT score of 21 * Be a United States Citizen * Major in the sciences with the intention of pursuing that discipline as a career. * Submit transcript and two letters of recommendation * Complete an essay
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS: * Accepted or enrolled in an accredited HBCU for the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 academic year (HBCU is defined as “historically black colleges and universities”) * Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) * Be a United States Citizen * Pursuing an undergraduate degree in the sciences * Submit transcript and two letters of recommendation * Complete an essay
GRADUATE STUDENTS: * Apply to and be accepted into a graduate school by July 1, 2024 * Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) * Be a United States Citizen * Pursuing a graduate degree in the health and medical sciences * Submit transcript and two letters of recommendation * Complete an essay
